Babar Azam becomes highest run-scorer in HBL PSL’s history

Karachi: Captain Babar Azam of Pakistan’s cricket team Saturday was the HBL Pakistan Super League’s highest-ranking scorer (PSL).

During the PSL six opener against Quetta Gladiator, the 26-year-old batsman Karachi Kings surpassed Peshawar Zalmi’s Kamran Akmal, who held a record earlier.

The opening batsman scored 24 runs, which brought his total races to 1540, the highest in PSL’s history, in the T20 League.

Earlier, since Akmal started the T20 League, Akmal had scored 1537 runs in 55 innings. On the other hand, Babar had 1516 runs out of 47 games before the Gladiators game. His 24-run innings led him to have the Zalmi batsman in front of three runs.

On Sunday afternoon Akmal will be playing for Zalmi and is expected to keep his position on the list of the most events in the tournament history.
