Electricity theft and consumer overbilling are serious concerns for WAPDA. LESCO will replace 1.7 million old meters with new ” advanced meter infrastructure (AMI) meters” to address these two challenges. This project will receive $300 million in funding from the Asian Development Bank (ADP).
According to a LESCO official, in the central and south circles of LESCO, 14,74,532 single-phase, 2,13,120 three-phase, and 28,753 commercial and industrial outdated meters will be replaced with contemporary AMI meters.
