The government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) has given newly appointed teachers till February 28 to acquire tablets from their District Education Officers (DEOs).
“Under the KP Tablet Allowance Policy, the following government school teachers are expected to contact their DEOs and acquire tablets by February 28, 2022,” stated a tweet from the KP Elementary and Secondary Education Department.
It has advised PST, SST, PET, and CT instructors hired between 2019 and 2021 to purchase the requisite tablets in order to finish the mandated Teachers’ Induction Program training, which lasts nine months. Teachers should contact their DEOs for the tablet specifications they need to buy, and half of the cost will be repaid if they provide a receipt, according to the Education Department.

“Once you buy the tablet, you will be returned 50% of the money, up to a maximum of Rs. 15,000, by sharing your receipt at the DEO office,” the post continued.
After completing the Teachers’ Induction Program training, the teachers will be able to keep the tablets.
Many people were taken aback by the decision, given the province administration had just announced the free distribution of tablets to students and teachers.
On February 11, KP’s Education Secretary, Ashfaq Ahmed, told the media that the project will cost Rs. 1 billion. Once the provincial government has allocated the necessary cash, it will be legally launched.
