Pakistani Students Finally Start Returning to China to Resume Education

The first group of Pakistani students who had returned to the nation owing to the Coronavirus outbreak left for China earlier today to resume their education after gaining permission from the Chinese government.

A special aircraft of Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) carrying 105 students departed from New Islamabad International Airport for Xi’an, the capital of Shaanxi Province in central China, according to details.

Rana Tanveer Hussain, the Federal Minister of Education, was also present. In an interview with the media, the Minister stated that the Pakistan government’s concerted efforts have finally brought dividends. Due to the COVID-19 restrictions on overseas students in China, the students have already suffered a severe academic loss.

The Minister thanked Xi Jinping, the Chinese President, and Nong Rong, the Chinese Ambassador to Pakistan, for addressing the issue of Pakistani students.

ProPakistani was the first to raise the problem last October after the Chinese authorities denied thousands of Pakistani students admittance despite the country’s Coronavirus restrictions being eased.

While China barred Pakistani students from returning, Pakistan allowed thousands of Chinese employees to return to work on the China Pakistan Economic Corridor’s many projects (CPEC).
