President Dr. Arif Alvi exhorted the youth on Friday to acquire skills that will enable them to pursue employment opportunities in a variety of fields.
The president was speaking at the Ministry of Federal Education and Professional Training’s first-ever Career Guide Expo 2022.
Dr. Alvi expressed gratitude to the government for presenting students with a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity that he believes should be replicated across the country. He recommended the youth to enter sectors based on market demands and their abilities and to be open to other people’s information. The President stated that, in addition to honing their communication abilities, the youth must also be trustworthy, as corruption has ravaged the country.

He claimed that in the past, despite the lack of market research, Pakistan has produced doctors in excess of market demand, resulting in a brain drain due to a lack of jobs. Around 80 million individuals are required only for cyber security, indicating a global shortage of human capital. He explained that Pakistan has a significant edge in this regard because the rest of the world is turning to Pakistan for high-quality human resources.
He exhorted the girls to contribute to national development after being educated instead of remaining idle, citing young Swedish environmentalist Greta Thunberg and Indian teenager Muskan Khan for their courage in defending their right to wear the hijab.
