
The Punjab government has decided to relaunch the Chief Minister’s (CM’s) Laptop Scheme, which would provide talented students with free laptops to aid their education.
According to data, the provincial government has set up Rs. 1.5 billion in the yearly budget for FY2022-23 for the CM’s Laptop Scheme.
Sardar Awais Ahmed Laghari, the Minister of Finance and Revenue, announced that the Finance Department has given more than Rs. 485 billion to the education sector when presenting the province budget on Wednesday.

Non-development expenditures like as salaries, pensions, and other expenses have been allotted Rs. 428.5 billion of the overall budget, whereas development expenditures such as the building of new schools, colleges, and institutions have been allocated Rs. 56.7 billion.
The School Education Department has been granted Rs. 421 billion. Non-development expenditures are for Rs. 382 billion of the entire budget, while development initiatives account for Rs. 39 billion.
The Higher Education Department has been given Rs. 59 billion. Non-development expenditures would account for Rs. 45.5 billion of the entire budget, while development initiatives will account for Rs. 13.5 billion.
The Special Education Department will receive Rs. 1.5 billion, while the Literacy and Non-Formal Education Department will receive Rs. 3.6 billion for FY2022-23.
