The final examinations for classes 1 to 8 under the newly established Single National Curriculum (SNC) will begin on May 9 this year in all Punjabi institutions.
The examination procedure will end on May 20 and the final results will be revealed on May 31, according to a notification issued by the Punjab School Education Department (SED). The new academic year will begin on August 1.
Pupils in grades 3 through 8 will take tests that include both objective and subject components, while students in grades 1 and 2 will be evaluated through oral exams.
All children in grades 3 to 8 will take written exams in Urdu, English, Mathematics, General Science, and Social Sciences, while Muslim kids will be assessed in Islamiat and non-Muslims will be required to take an Ethics exam.
SED Punjab had decided earlier this year in January to hold tests for grades 1 to 8 in all schools across the province starting on March 5.
However, due to the closure of schools in many cities across the province due to the outbreak of the Omicron version of the Coronavirus, it was obliged to reconsider its decision.
