The Punjab government has scheduled two-month summer vacations for all public and private schools in the province from June 1 to July 31, 2022.
According to a notification released by the Punjab School Education Department, the decision was made on Monday.
According to the specifications, the new academic year 2022-23 will begin on August 1st, with annual tests for Grades 1 through 8 beginning in May.
Sindh’s government has previously declared summer vacations for all public and private schools and universities in the state from June 1 to July 31, 2022. The decision was taken during a meeting of the Sindh Education and Literacy Department’s (SELD) Steering Committee, which was chaired by Syed Sardar Ali Shah, Sindh Minister for Education.
It was decided that the yearly examinations for Grades 4 through 8 will begin on May 2nd. The authorities also agreed that the exams will consist of 40% multiple-choice questions and 60% subjective questions. It was also decided that the Matriculation and Intermediate exams will take place on the 17th and 15th of May, respectively. The results will be disclosed within two months of the examinations, according to the chairpersons of the education boards.
Syed Khalid Haider Shah, Secretary Colleges, stated that the admission process would begin as soon as the Intermediate board examination results were revealed. Winter breaks will begin on December 22 and last on December 31.
