
During Ramadan, the Punjab School Education Department is considering reducing school hours by two hours.
On Wednesday, the department conducted a meeting where the proposal to cut school hours by two hours during Ramadan was discussed.
During the discussion, it was suggested that during Ramadan, girls’ schools be open from 7:30 a.m. to 12:15 p.m., and boys’ schools be open from 8:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

Boys and girls schools currently start at 8:00 a.m. and end at 2:30 p.m. and 2:45 p.m., respectively.
If authorised, the revised Ramadan timings will take effect on the first day of Ramadan.
Regarding the change in timetables, the education department has requested input from educational authorities. After adequate consultation, a final notification will be given.
