Today, On March 24th, 2021, the Pakistani government will make a final decision on school closures

The government has agreed to call an inter-provincial ministers’ meeting on Wednesday, March 24th, 2021, while reviewing the current situation of the Covid-19. According to Shafqat Mehmood, the Federal Minister for Education and Professional Training, the meeting will decide on the reopening or further closure of educational institutes. Shafqat Mehmood recently revealed the news on Twitter.

The meeting will take place at the National Command And Operation Center, or NCOC, according to the minister. The meeting is open to health officials from all six administrative units. All of the authorities will brief the meeting and update the government on the current status of the Covid-19 cases in their provinces. This briefing will assist NCOC and educational bodies in making an informed decision about school reopening.

The Educational Institutes Have Been Closed For The Last Time

The government had previously decided to close schools from March 15th to March 28th, 2021. Schools in some parts of KPK, Punjab, and Islamabad have been closed by the federal government. The closure of educational institutes was guaranteed in order to prevent the country’s third wave of Covid-19. Scientists have reported that the variant or third wave of the Covid-19 is more dangerous than the previous one and that it also spreads faster.
